I originally planted garlic for making winter soups, but the scapes (stems) were so captivating that a photographic project was born. These stems are living, growing, changing organisms, even when cut and placed in a jar with water. Their shapes and shadows glow with spirit (Chi) and the energy of "life movement" (shen tung) and remind me to pay attention to the beauty that is Here, Now.
This portfolio is now available in LensWork (March/April 2015) and LensWork Extended.
